The home was built by Elisha Phelps and his father was a Yale graduate. Elisha and his wife would go on to have three children, all very successful. One of the daughters married a man named Amos Richards Enos and would visit the Simsbury home every summer. Fast forward through family members passing and the home eventually being owned by a developer and then by the city of Simsbury.
